Illinois Top Times

The snow storms couldn't keep Ayanna Tommy and Charlie Smith from bringing home a medal at the 2018 Illinois Top Times Invite.  With several inches of snow accumulating in central Illinois on Saturday, Tommy and Smith were busy competing at Illinois Wesleyan University.  Tommy began the day clearing her first attempt in the high jump at 4'11".  While waiting for her next attempt she headed over to the starting line to run the 60 meter dash.  Her time of 7.98 failed her to qualify her for the finals, but her day was not over.  Tommy cleared 5'1" to finish in a tie for 8th place.  Smith competed later in the night in the 1600 meter run.  He ran a smart race placing 5th overall and running 4:24.33.  The Sequoits now head into the outdoor season at they will compete against Grayslake Central and Grant on April 3rd.
